If Bad Things Happened To Politicians: GOP Concealed Carry Fast-track

Nine years ago, I started asking just how quickly problems that affect the American people on a daily basis would be solved if those same issues affected our media or Capitol Hill elite.

In the aftermath of the lib-terror shooting in Alexandria, Virginia, our federal politicians now deem it an emergency that gun laws need to be altered so THEY can protect themselves.

“None of us have protection other than the leaders. I am working with the NRA on some legislation that might be able to make common sense and to assist members of Congress and their staff in being able to protect themselves. We need to keep ourselves and our staff safe, and that’s a right guaranteed by the Second Amendment. You look at the vulnerability. I can assure you, from this day forward, I have a carry permit, I will be carrying when I’m out and about.”

Collins noted that he has a permit to carry a firearm, but it doesn’t legally extend to the District of Columbia.

These are the same politicians who created a health care monstrosity that one party arrogantly and blindly passed, the other party failed to push back on. Because they all subsidized themselves, their families, and staff so it didn’t really affect them. Legislation allowing concealed permit holders to carry their firearms across state lines has been problematic as some states don’t recognize those permits in their gun-free environments where no gun crime occurs. Seeing how that mostly affected Americans, it was never really a priority to our political elite… that is, until Alexandria.

NOW, it’s an emergency!

Many Republican representatives have concealed handgun permits from their home states, but carrying in the District of Columbia is illegal for all but a select few D.C. residents. Representative Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) thinks that he has a solution: allow congressmen and women to carry in D.C. if they have a permit to do so in their home state.

Here’s just another reason to add to the list with regards to term limits for the entrenched, entitled.

Many politicians DO believe they deserve special treatment, not because they are elected, but they are better than the rest of us and should be able to implement that special treatment without any input from the American people. In this case, Republicans have enlisted the assistance of the National Rifle Association… you know, to make sure they get it right.

Wouldn’t it be nice if those on Capitol Hill saw the American people as much of a priority as they see themselves.

A point made back in 2008….

If we are subject to criminal and/or terrorist activity because of their political and/or politically correct agendas, we just have to deal with it because they say so. But let a crazy, their rhetoric-amped up, go after some of them, then let’s stop everything and make sure they’re as safe as can be.
