As far as “power trips” and that “bad sense of humor” goes, here’s a possible case in point.

Michael Bloomberg is running for president as a Democrat, wants to be assured those who know him best will publish nothing bad about him, and has found a rather sly way of making sure that happens the way he wants.

Just so it was packaged as a policy independent of the candidate himself, while one of this employees issued the following public edict.

We will continue our tradition of not investigating Mike (and his family and foundation) and we will extend the same policy to his rivals in the Democratic primaries. We cannot treat Mike’s democratic competitors differently from him. For the moment, our P&I team will continue to investigate the Trump administration, as the government of the day.

For those who ridicule President Trump’s so-called assault on press freedom, one can only imagine how things could be after the first negative report about a President Bloomberg administration came across the desk.

A right hook from the Trump 2020 campaign didn’t take long in coming.

Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale said in a statement that the Bloomberg News policy, enacted after Bloomberg LP founder and majority owner Michael Bloomberg announced he would run for president, is unfair to President Donald Trump. In response, the campaign will no longer credential Bloomberg News reporters to cover its events, he said.

“The decision by Bloomberg News to formalize preferential reporting policies is troubling and wrong,” Parscale said in a statement. “Since they have declared their bias openly, the Trump campaign will no longer credential representatives of Bloomberg News for rallies or other campaign events.”

That should make Bloomberg reporters’ jobs even easier and Bloomberg’s sanctioned liberal bias, admitted and right out in the open, is honest and refreshing.
