<p>Those poor employees don&#8217;t know what to do.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #333399;">Former employees say that group chats have been filled with ex-colleagues advising people currently owed expenses to pay off any amounts outstanding to avoid late payment card fees—but it’s not that easy.</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #333399;">“Some people are like: ‘I don’t have that money,’” the former UK Twitter employee tells Fortune. “’I was relying on Twitter to give it to me.’ People are in really difficult situations here.”</span><br />
<span style="color: #333399;">&#8212;</span> <a href="https://fortune.com/2022/11/18/twitter-former-employee-expenses-not-paid-elon-musk-layoffs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fortune, 11/18/22</a></p>
<p><a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees1.jpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-25073 size-medium" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees1-150x84.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="84" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees1-150x84.jpg 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees1-768x430.jpg 768w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees1.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /></a>Aside from parents who will suddenly be contacted by emotional children demanding to have their old rooms dusted off for a pending arrival back, it will be very hard to find Americans who will be sympathetic to the plight of the newly unemployed. Unless the media does it&#8217;s job and informs the public of just how well former Twitter employees had it, they won&#8217;t know just much of the opulent salaries they irresponsibly just up and blew.</p>
<p>The median income for an American is, as of 2020, <strong><a href="https://www.census.gov/library/publications/2021/demo/p60-273.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$41,535</a></strong>.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees2.jpg"><img decoding="async" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-25072" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees2-150x100.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="100" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees2-150x100.jpg 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees2-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees2-360x240.jpg 360w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees2-600x400.jpg 600w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees2.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /></a>The average income for a Twitter employee is <strong><a href="https://www.payscale.com/research/US/Employer=Twitter/Salary" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$118,000</a></strong> a year, not including the average $17,000 bonus.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re young and single, that&#8217;s a lot of money. After taking into account monthly expenses like housing and utilities, other expenses were essentially taken off the table.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.builtinsf.com/company/twitter/benefits" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter provided some perks</a> like</p>

<p>Unheard of in the real world, Twitter made the work environment more of a paid playground for Millennials and GenZ.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Perks.png" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-25081 size-large" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Perks-800x338.png" alt="" width="750" height="317" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Perks-800x338.png 800w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Perks-150x63.png 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Perks-768x325.png 768w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Perks.png 932w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></a><br />
<a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees4.jpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-25075 size-medium" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees4-150x83.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="83" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees4-150x83.jpg 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees4-768x424.jpg 768w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employees4.jpg 800w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /></a>Aside from select jobs that provide you with a meal you&#8217;ve been required to work through, not too many offer free meals with beer on tap (and we assume there&#8217;s no limit to consumption), not to mention playrooms and happy hours (also probably daily). For some of these people to say they&#8217;re in an emotional and financial conundrum because they don&#8217;t have money is a joke.</p>
<p>And it&#8217;s not like many of these are nice people worthy of pity.</p>
<p>Too many proudly censored and punished users who didn&#8217;t agree with them. They believed they were (and still are) intellectually-superior and benevolent gatekeepers of <em>their</em> values, regardless of how <em>their</em> values differed with the masses. These people were overpaid to be the bad people they are.</p>
<p><span style="color: #808080;"><a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employee-meme.jpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-25076 size-medium" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employee-meme-150x100.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="100" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employee-meme-150x100.jpg 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employee-meme-360x240.jpg 360w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employee-meme-600x400.jpg 600w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Twitter-employee-meme.jpg 749w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /></a></span>Chances are, if they were employees vital to the daily operation of Twitter, they&#8217;d still have jobs there.</p>
<p>The fact they were let go and very few of us have experienced a hiccup, after going to the website, proves how unessential they are.</p>
