“I am pleased to announce that last night the Old Bridge Council voted to authorize the Township attorney to file a Federal lawsuit against Gov Murphy’s administration over immigration directive that prohibits State, County, and local Law Enforcement Agencies from engaging in routine acts of cooperation with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” said Razzoli in a statement obtained by Save Jersey. “We must place public safety above any political agendas. Attorney General Grewal and Governor Murphy need to exhibit to our citizens the same level of concern that they are offering illegal immigrants.”

Obviously as he appeared to have had enough of his Democrat leadership’s blatant disregard for federal law, the safety of American citizens and law enforcement, retired Jersey City Police Detective Razzoli took it to the next level.

Old Bridge Democratic Councilman Mark Razzoli has announced today his decision to run for Congress as a Republican; a decision that was “not made in haste, but a necessary one for anyone with a conscience” said Razzoli. “The Democratic Party that I knew has abandoned the American way of life, rule of law, and common sense, in favor of exaggerated, socialist ideology”, he added.

“Public safety and national security should be our number one priority; no state legislator should put themselves in a position to make their own laws. Their job is to enforce the laws that exist and to protect the citizens of their respective states… public safety and law enforcement go hand in hand.”

This could be a fun campaign to watch unfold.

Razzoli will challenge Democratic liberal Bonnie Watson-Coleman in 2020 for the Congressional seat that represents District 12, New Jersey. Razzoli has been critical of Watson-Coleman’s allegiance to the far-left socialists in Washington, DC stating, “They continue to place the wellbeing of illegal immigrants above that of American citizens and people have had enough.”

While the left and their media will obviously try and call Razzoli and his party switch an aberration, we’ll see how many other Democrats are inspired to become Republicans, follow the leadership of President Trump and flee a party that puts the welfare of lawbreakers ahead of the safety and wellbeing of Americans.

Not like a $120 million revenue shortfall would stop a government body from trying to force taxpayers to pay more to support liberal nonprofits that aid illegal aliens….

Dozens signed up to speak and seats were hard to find at a hearing on Tuesday night for a plan to set aside $373,000 in legal aid money for low income Montgomery County immigrants facing deportation. Claudia Cubas with the CAIR Coalition described the people she sees in detention centers where immigrants facing deportation proceedings are held.

No vote has been scheduled on the plan yet, but County Council President Hans Reimer said a date would be set soon.

Liberal Democrats speaking appeared to have trouble accepting the concept of “illegal” being “criminal”.

Only adding to the drama at the May 1st public hearing was Reimer’s astonishing statement, “Being undocumented is not a crime. That is not a criminal violation.” Then again, coming from an Obama administration refugee that managed to continue to leech off the taxpayer for his livelihood, that was not all that surprising.

He served as National Youth Vote Director for the historic Obama for America campaign in 2007, and previously as political director for Rock the Vote, where he helped register nearly a million voters. Hans also served as a senior advisor at AARP and, since his earliest work in Washington, has been a national leader on protecting Social Security from Republican efforts to privatize the program.

Given the sensitive nature and visceral response the illegal immigration invokes, granting the public an opportunity to give their input on diverting public money to defend “low income” illegals against deportation could be a political ploy to shield a coming decision to divert money to liberal nonprofits like the “Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition” and Indivisible in the name of “civil rights”.

Against the wishes of many of their residents, Montgomery County is a self-declared “sanctuary jurisdiction” currently at odds with the Trump Administration’s stance against illegal immigrants.

Council President Hans Riemer was arrested on the steps of the U.S. Capitol by U.S. Capitol Police yesterday, after refusing an order to disperse following an immigration rally. “I was arrested today,” Riemer wrote on Facebook last evening. Riemer has promised to introduce legislation to declare Montgomery County officially a “sanctuary county” for illegal immigrants, according to Gustavo Torres, Executive Director of CASA de Maryland.

Using taxpayer money to defend those who should never have been in the United States in the first place is a blatant middle finger to the President and those who voted him into office to redress an issue that negatively affects all too many Americans on a daily basis.
