It doesn’t take much to arouse passions. In some cases, the problematic can take months to heal if not addressed.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) told a San Fernando Valley fundraiser audience that the Council on American–Islamic Relations was founded because Muslims were given increased scrutiny after the 9/11 attacks because…

“they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”

Not that the September 11 terror attacks forever changed the way Americans live within our own borders.

Five months later to the day, during the 9/11 Memorial and Museum Ceremony in New York City, Representative Omar’s comments were addressed by a private citizen.

Wearing a shirt with the Muslim Minnesota congresswoman’s infamous words emblazoned on it, Nicholas Haros Jr. paused from reading the names of the dead at the televised Ground Zero service to lambaste Omar.
— New York Post, 9/11/19

You probably won’t see this clip on any of the major news outlets because the New York Times clarified who was really responsible.

“Airplanes took aim”, possibly with “some people” who “did something”.

Glad we finally got that cleared up.

How many times have we heard, after a Muslim commits an act of violence in the United States, the Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR) instruct us to be very careful and not rush to judgment. We’re not to lump all Muslims in with a crazed lunatic who may have preceded his or her carnage with that customary “God is great” shoutout.

Fair enough.

But when Muslims are killed by someone who’s passed off as a “white supremacist” (thanks to the media), the demands of restraint disappear and judgments are hurled.

CAIR, the largest Muslim advocacy organization in the U.S., warned against blaming any one person for the shooter’s actions, but pointed to research showing a rise in anti-Muslim sentiment since Trump was elected. CAIR National Executive Director Nihad said Trump needs to assure Muslims that they are protected and that he will not tolerate violence against their community.

“Mr. Trump, your words matter. Your policies matter. They impact the lives of innocent people at home and globally,” Awad said at a news conference Friday.
— PBS NewsHour, 3/15/19

Actually, anti-Muslim sentiment has been growing since September 11, 2001 and the rise of terror attacks that have occured since haven’t helped Nihad Awad’s case. Coincidently, on the same day as the New Zealand massacre, there were other horrific attacks in the world; attacks Mr. Awad declined to mention because it was too inconvenient.

At least 13 civilians have died in fresh attacks in Mozambique’s volatile northern Cabo Delgado province where Islamists have terrorized villagers in remote communities for more than a year, local sources said Saturday.
— Manila Bulletin, 3/16/18

Three suicide attackers in women’s clothing killed six people leaving the last Islamic State enclave in eastern Syria on Friday in simultaneous blasts, the US-backed forces besieging the area said.
— South China Morning Post, 3/16/18

International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that earlier today, around 6:00 a.m., Boko Haram insurgents launched an attack on Ngurhlavu village of Lassa in Askira-Uba local council area of southern Borno State. Most of the villagers were able to flee into the bush, but the insurgents burned down six homes, destroyed the EYN Church (Church of the Brethren), killed one person, and abducted two sisters, Stella Ibrahim and Plungwa Ibrahim.
— International Christian Concern, 3/14/19

If we’re playing the numbers game, the 50 killed in Christchurch, New Zealand by a white guy is larger than the 20 killed by Muslims in other parts of the world on the same day, but the fact our media has amplified CAIR’s claim of anti-Muslim sentiment blamed on President Trump while being allowed to ignore the actions of his murderous brethren should be pointed out.

While many have quickly rushed to judgment and made this political against President Trump, remember how these are the same people who demand WE not rush to judgment when one of their own kills en masse.

Fort Hood shooting: 13 dead, 30 injured
Council for American-Islamic Relations national communications director Ibrahim Hooper said Sunday that the U.S. still isn’t clear if the shootings at Fort Hood were an act of terrorism. “To call it an act of terror is to jump to conclusions, to rush to judgment,” Hooper said in an appearance on TV One’s “Washington Watch.”
CAIR spokesman Dawud Walid told WWJ Newsradio 950 it’s unfortunate that Muslims are often instantly considered suspects in such attacks. “We shouldn’t rush to judgment in regards to this horrific attack – we don’t know who did it, irrespective of who did it, there is not religion that sanctions wanton violence against innocent people,” he said.
The thousands of deaths at the hands of Muslim terrorists including incidents in Paris, Ankara, Nigeria, Koulfoua, Brussels, Lahore, Istanbul, Baghdad, Nice, Quetta, Sehwan, Zliten, Beslan, Bataclan, London, Manchester are just some of the other two-or-so day stories our media moved on from because once we found out who the murderers were, it was time again to not rush to judgment and paint others with that proverbial broad brush.

Consistency used to hold people accountable for their actions but when the activists and the media choose sides, things get ignored when inconvenient and amplified to suit a political end. Imagine the pointed accusations of unfounded hysteria if Americans took additional security measures after an Islamic terror attack and what would be said about them. But for others, such measures suddenly become justified and promoted.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-769 size-medium" title="Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand met with representatives of the Muslim community in Christchurch on Saturday. Mosques across the country swiftly implemented new security precautions, just hours before their communities gathered for the weekly jum’a prayer. Police in cities across the country sent officers to mosques. Faithful attendees debated whether it would be safe to go pray.

It’s great to be the victim. You can gain lots of that valuable sympathy and you can dictate the terms of how narratives are presented.

Then again, if you can’t be consistent and practice what you preach, we have no obligation to listen to demands.

William Co. greenlights Nokesville mosque after years of debate
Fauquier Times: Supervisors approve mosque with sewer in Nokesville

But as this is a commentary site, here’s another perspective based on what we saw.

Three years ago, the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) found a space in the “Rural Crescent” in Prince William County. Our guess is that particular site was not only chosen because the price was far cheaper than a developed parcel in town with appropriate infrastructure, but because it is easily expandable.

However, there are rules. As the area is “zoned agricultural, development is limited to one home per 10 acres and connections to the public sewer line are generally prohibited” and almost all homes and farms utilize septic systems for waste. Many people have been denied “special use” permits in this area if their requirements failed the zoning rules.

But as we all know from years of experience in the United States and other parts of the world, Muslims do not believe the rules we have to live by applies to them. Most American businesses and schools would not require time out for Christian prayer, in fact, the American Civil Liberties Union would be the first to question the appropriateness and issue guidelines while they proudly support almost any freedom of Muslim expression in public areas. One pattern almost always emerges: if Muslim requests aren’t acted upon, they become very public demands that once accommodated generate new “requests”: foot washing facilities, etc….

Despite their proposed mosque not meeting current requirements, they demanded special treatment to tap into the sewer system; treatment none of the surrounding residents received.

And we could have sworn we saw a rather uptight Ibrahim Hooper, National Communications Director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) standing right behind our camera.

On an almost daily basis around the world, we hear of horrific terror acts that maim and/or kill dozens or more. They’ve been carried out by those who are NOT screaming “Jesus is the greatest!” while running people over in large vehicles or slashing and/or shooting all those around them or blowing up concert-going tweens. These are people who scream “Allahu Akbar” during their terror acts and sometimes saying they did a bad thing just isn’t enough. Mass rapes, honor killings, and random murderous acts is a tough reputation to shake but calling others names for pointing out those actions done in your name is not very endearing. To date, we have yet to see ONE priest, pastor, or minister declare holy war on all those who don’t believe as they do, but we’re the Islamophobes who shouldn’t be listened to.

As far as what we experienced in the James J. McCoart Administration Building, right outside the chamber is a clearly-marked sign that read, “No food or drinks allowed in the chamber”, but what are rules to those who believe they don’t apply?

The “1000” or so Muslims and liberal allies who showed up at the hearing could have easily watched it on cable access television. They showed up in person to bully, intimidate, and it worked.

At the end of the night (morning), the mosque will be built and allowed a sewage infrastructure no other resident could acquire because it was never about equal treatment; it was about special treatment.

And if you think that Nokesville mosque will be limited to only 500 as they claim, let’s see how that looks a few years from now….

Maybe it’s because the media elites don’t want to be Charlie Hebdo’d and consider their safety more important than reporting on what the modus operandi suggested and, heaven forbid, look at the Boston Marathon bombing as a Muslim terror attack.

Nah, it had to be a right wing, white guy….

And whenever possible, it will be.

Seriously, the media culture is truly afraid of being targeted themselves which is why they have to be pulled, kicking and screaming, to state what may be the obvious. We’ve been told after previous incidents, Muslim terrorists liked to detonate one device that would drive panicked people towards another device that would be detonated to increase the carnage. That kinda’ made the possible perpetrators of the Boston Marathon bombing an easy speculation.

Of course, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and their left always declines to jump to conclusions that would lead to a nationwide backlash against Muslims; a backlash that very seldom happens.

People killed by radical Muslims on 9/11: 2,996

But who ever said the media could count if they wanted to?

In yet another display of disrespect to black people, Think Progress has apparently provided fake pictures of Tea Party ‘racism’ to the NAACP.

In the PR Newswire story ‘CAIR Backs NAACP Resolution on Tea Party Racism’, a link is provided to the NAACP website story of their resolution against the Tea Party. That story contains many jpegs of Tea Party participants holding signs with racist verbiage. One problem: the pictures are fakes.

As a professional Photoshop artist of over ten years, I found these fakes not hard to spot.

Upon close inspection you can see the digital artifacts around the letters on the signs in question. Clearly the resolution of the signs don’t match the smoother, higher resolution of the jpeg’s background. The other pictures on the site are equally suspect.

Whomever created these manipulations was a sloppy amateur, and the fact that Think Progress would provide such manipulations to the NAACP shows their assumptions that these black people would be too stupid to notice the fakes.

A very progressive assumption.

It would be purely rhetorical for me to say at this point that I was confused. Maybe if I toss some ideas around, we may learn something.

American liberals are constantly reminding us of the “separation of church and state”, which incidentally appears nowhere except in the “living Constitution.” So with that, by legislation we have removed symbols, the Ten Commandments, and hymns from almost all public places. High school football players cannot have prayer before, during or after their games, and the song “God Bless America” has even been outlawed in some venues. This has been done as to not offend the roughly five to ten percent of people in this country not Christian.

That would be acceptable, however reluctantly, if enforced fairly. Unfortunately it is not.

Two or so weeks ago, Dell Computer in Nashville told some of their employees that they would not be able to take time out of their work day to pray. Some would consider that appropriate if the prayers were of a Christian origin. However, Muslims at the company were the ones making the demands.

“The workers were told: ‘Choose work or choose faith. They didn’t see an option: They chose not to work.” – Kelvin Jones, executive director of the Metro Human Relations Commission for the greater Nashville area

In the liberal world, a job is an entitlement. Now while most people would like one, it’s not possible to get one where you can do anything you want, especially if it interferes with the routine operation of that business, and more so if prayer is involved. Tell me that the ACLU wouldn’t rush to aid a company where Christians demanded prayer time at 10am….

Well, after a week of spotty media attention and intervention from CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Dell backed down and according to the Austin Business Journal, “A religious concern raised by 31 Muslim employees of the Spherion Corp. contracted by Dell Inc. in Tennessee has led to an agreement that will allow the employees to conduct sunset prayers.”

Here’s the part that is confuses this columnist:

“As part of the agreement, Dell and Spherion employees in Tennessee will receive additional training on Dell’s current practices for religious accommodation. Those guidelines instruct managers and supervisors to grant paid time away from an employee’s work area for prayer as long as those requests are reasonable.”

Why is it that those who seek special treatment that would be considered outrageous in the case of other groups, in turn try and “educate” the rest of us as to why the rules don’t apply to them and why we’d damn well better accept it?

I don’t need no education. I’m just looking for consistency here. Thus my mistrust at the motives of a group like CAIR.

In a previous column I noted my brief, but telling run-in with a CAIR representative on a discussion involving racial profiling after 9/11 on a Los Angeles radio program. What always gets me going is when any, yes, ANY fringe group tries to compare their inconvenience to what blacks went through prior to and during the civil rights era. There is no comparison, unless you are ready to be called a racist to make you back down.

So who is CAIR and what might they really want?

According to their website, “CAIR’s mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.”

Now while most have no problem with the understanding of any religion, in this case it doesn’t seem like dialogue was encouraged; just demands. As far as protecting civil liberties, that sounds nice especially considering how civil liberties are approached in some of the countries Muslims escape to settle here.

That’s right; I said it. ESCAPE.

It’s the “empowering American Muslims” part the concerns me.

What kind of empowerment are we talking about? Peaceful assimilation or potential takeover? I only say this considering the perception that some Muslims around the world seemingly have little design on getting along with anyone not Muslim. To say this can even have a hit put out on you and your family.

That might offend some at CAIR, but it happens all around the world every day. Imagine a world without fatwas and where “infidels” weren’t targeted for elimination according to the “alternate” interpretation of the Koran.

Back to the website, “CAIR’s Governmental Affairs Department conducts and organizes lobbying efforts on issues related to Islam and Muslims. The department is active in monitoring legislation and government activities and then, responding on behalf of the American Muslim community. CAIR representatives have testified before Congress and have sponsored a number of activities designed to bring Muslim concerns to Capitol Hill.”

Should we consider there being a difference between being Muslim and American. I only say this because our laws are created to encompass all, not everyone except Muslims. I know the racial profiling thing strikes a nerve with American Muslims, but CAIR people on television and radio denouncing the profilers as racists and not condemning the terrorists who are mostly Muslim speaks volumes and breeds the suspicion that inspired this column.

“CAIR’s Communications Department works in conjunction with local and national media to ensure an accurate portrayal of Islam and Muslims is presented to the American public. CAIR monitors local, national and international media in part, to challenge negative stereotypes, but also to applaud and encourage positive representations of Islam and Muslims. Over the years, CAIR has become a respected and credible source for journalists and other media professionals.”

It seems the depiction that really pisses them off is that of some Muslims being terrorists. CAIR people always bring up the Columbine shooters and Tim McVeigh to show that not all violent people are Muslims. No one has said that, however I’d like to offer one piece of advice to counter some of the daily news reports that dictate otherwise: STOP BLOWING SHIT UP!

We hear of assassinations, car bombings, beheadings, kidnappings, and that’s only the ones being done to fellow Muslims, then CAIR gets all bent out of shape because they say WE are perpetuating a negative stereotypical image. Give me a break.

“CAIR offers internships to students or other interested individuals who wish to gain experience in media relations, political activism or civil rights work.”

In other words, more indoctrination of kids….

“CAIR organizes regular conferences and training seminars for government and law enforcement agencies, media professionals and the academic community. These events are designed to present easily accessible and accurate information about Islam and Muslims. CAIR’s TeamWorks sensitivity and diversity training workshop is offered to employers, educators and organizations as a proactive approach that highlights relevant Islamic practices and offers suggestions for religious accommodation. CAIR also provides training for the Muslim Community and activists in areas such as media relations, public speaking, lobbying, and civil rights.”

Religious accommodation, diversity training, and sensitivity. It’s nice that CAIR wishes to share such good will with the rest of us. However I think they’d be more accepted if they practiced themselves what they demand of everyone else.

Here in America, Muslim women have all kinds of rights. Rights that would allow them to be part of an organization like CAIR; rights that aren’t allowed to women in numerous Muslim countries. I’ve always wondered why people do whatever they can to leave certain parts of the world to come to America, then once here do whatever they can to make America resemble the place from which they fled?

Again, my confusion….

“Since its establishment in 1994, CAIR has worked to promote a positive image of Islam and Muslims in America. Through media relations, lobbying, education and advocacy, CAIR puts forth an Islamic perspective to ensure the Muslim voice is represented. In offering this perspective, CAIR seeks to empower the American Muslim community and encourage their participation in political and social activism.”

It ain’t workin’.

The positive image of radical Islam will not be cured by CAIR through turning attention away from the fanatics and onto those who criticize them. Organizations, including tax exempt “nonprofit 501(c)(4)’s” who portray themselves as oppressed minorities like post-slavery blacks, are using blacks in the typical and insulting way used so often by American liberals and their fringes.

The only people who can clean up Muslims’ images are those Muslims themselves, and I don’t mean those taking the heat for the crazies. I personally have a Muslim friend who has told me many things about Islam I truly didn’t know; this despite the “education” and promotion of positive images disseminated by CAIR.

Until then, television shows like “24” and movies like “True Lies” are stereotypical depictions of Muslims. People like me have had to acknowledge that some stereotypes have a basis in truth. Some people have problems with accepting that.

I could CAIR less.
