Impeachment isn’t enough.

Impeachment would remedy Trump”s “high crimes and misdemeanors.” But impeachment would not remedy Trump’s unconstitutional presidency because it would leave in place his vice president, White House staff and Cabinet, as well as all the executive orders he issued and all the legislation he signed, and the official record of his presidency.

The only response to an unconstitutional presidency is to annul it. Annulment would repeal all of it – recognizing that such appointments, orders, rules, and records were made without constitutional authority.
— Robert Reich, 8/24/18

The problem with such irrational thinking is it comes back to bite you.

The most recent example came thanks to former Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, first in 2005.

<img decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-128288 size-medium" title="Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) and Senate Minority Leader Harry M. The presiding officer will then rule in his favor.

Democrats will protest the ruling and ask for a vote to overturn it. The Republican leader will seek to table that appeal. If Frist and the GOP majority prevail, a long tradition of filibustering will be narrowed and a new precedent will be set allowing the Republicans to force a vote on a nomination with a simple majority instead of three-fifths of the Senate.

But Democrats contend that the Republicans are essentially breaking the rules to change the rules. “If there were ever an example of an abuse of power, this is it,” said Senate Minority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-NV). “The filibuster is the last check we have against the abuse of power in Washington.”
— Washington Post, 5/18/05

But Harry Reid’s position began to unravel when Democrats assumed the majority….

In 2008, Reid continued to condemn the fact that the Republicans even contemplated using the nuclear option: “The Senate was set up to be different, that was the genius, the vision of our Founding Fathers. That’s why you have the ability to filibuster, and to terminate filibuster. They wanted to get rid of all of that,” Reid said.

Then he was asked if he would ever consider invoking the nuclear option himself: “As long as I am the leader, the answer’s no,” Reid promised. “I think we should just forget that. That is a black chapter in the history of the Senate. I hope we never ever get to that again because I really do believe it will ruin our country.”

Fast-forward to 2013. Now, Democrats held the White House and a Senate majority. The Republican minority had been stalling nominations and appointments by Obama, including filibustering the nomination of former Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel for secretary of defense. Senate Democrats decided to go nuclear after the Senate GOP made clear that they had no intention of allowing three vacancies on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to be filled.
— PolitiFact, 11/22/13

But the most fun example came courtesy of the super-majority Democrats in the Massachusetts Legislature.

In 2004, the state’s junior senator, John Kerry, was the Democratic presidential nominee. Party leaders knew that if Kerry won in November, state law allowed the governor — then Republican Mitt Romney — to appoint Kerry’s successor, and that person would presumably be a Republican. So, the Democratic leadership of the legislature drew up a measure to strip the governor of his senatorial appointment power.

The measure passed both chambers and was vetoed by Romney. The Democrats then muscled a two-thirds majority to override the veto. Of course, Kerry never won the presidency, but the law remained on the books.

Fast-forward to 2009. Democrats realized that the law they had enacted in 2004 forced the state to have only one senator for roughly five months — and after Kennedy’s death, that meant the state would be short one senator. From a political standpoint, that meant the U.S. Senate would have one less Democrat at a time when a Democratic president was trying to reach a 60-vote threshold to enact landmark legislation on Kennedy’s signature issue, health care. And this time, the governor, Deval Patrick, is a Democrat and presumably would appoint someone from his party.

So legislators quickly passed legislation that would keep the special election but still allow the governor to appoint an interim senator to serve until the special election. The measure passed both chambers, and on Sept. 24, 2009, Patrick named former Democratic National Committee chairman Paul Kirk, a Kennedy family friend, as the interim senator.
— Politifact, 9/24/09

So, if Robert Reich and Democrats really want to strip Donald Trump of his presidency and annul all of his accomplishments, fine.

But politics continues to remain a rather consistently cyclical thing and one day, there will be a Democrat in the White House; a Democrat who may do really bad things. If Democrats do manage to have President Trump’s presidency stripped, precedent will be set and there will be calls to do the very same thing to that Democrat, deserved or not.

Who’ll be screaming like a stuck pig then, Robert?

For purely political reasons, blacks and whites have been intentionally polarized, starting way back when David Axelrod led Deval Patrick to the governorship of Massachusetts and now with the troubled presidency of Barack Obama. The administration has long since deployed the now well-known liberal tactic: opposition is racism.

Behind closed doors, this White House must be laughing their asses off at how easily the liberal media and activists can be manipulated to save their agenda.

Nation Of Cowards: White Suckers

Starting with the winning campaign of Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick through the victorious campaign of President Barack Obama (both helmed by David Axelrod), the strategy was clear: create an atmosphere where whites who don’t vote for these men will be called one of the most damaging names in America today: racist.

It even got to the point where white liberals were given license to use racial epithets against blacks who weren’t in support of Obama. After all, this was all about their being a part of history. Never mind we heard nary a peep out of them when Republicans Colin Powell was appointed the first black Secretary of State and Condoleezza Rice the first black National Security Advisor. How many white liberals celebrated Rice later becoming the first black female to be Secretary of State?

I know few, if any.

The celebration of black appointments to positions of high office was only to be authorized by the left. By white guilters being able to point to their participation in the election of the first black president, they felt it gave them the street cred to not only dictate whom is racist and whom is not, but the ability to use racist verbiage with impunity under the guise of parody and/or humor.

It also gave the white left the street cred to define any opposition to an Obama/Democrat policy as racist, thus the action line that the Tea Party is the racist arm of the Republican Party. Leaving out the basic math that roughly five percent of blacks vote Republican and would thus participate in a Tea Party, the white guilt left freely calls the Tea Party racist purely due to the small number of blacks in attendance.

Do white liberals realize they’re being used to perpetuate power they don’t share? Maybe.

Do white liberals realize they’ll later be hurt by many of Obama’s policies, some involving reverse discrimination? Maybe.

But this administration knows their base. They know they’re driven by guilt and their belief that blind loyalty to a black president will forever buy them immunity from the charge of racism: “I’m not a racist, I voted for Obama!” But when his policies come crashing down on them, what will they be saying behind closed doors…?

Nation Of Cowards: Black Suckers

Even though he wasn’t even elected yet, Barack Obama instantly became the most qualified person in America to talk about the issue of race and lectured the nation accordingly.

In the end, then, what is called for is nothing more, and nothing less, than what all the world’s great religions demand — that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us. Let us be our brother’s keeper, Scripture tells us. Let us be our sister’s keeper. Let us find that common stake we all have in one another, and let our politics reflect that spirit as well.

For we have a choice in this country. We can accept a politics that breeds division, and conflict, and cynicism. We can tackle race only as spectacle — as we did in the OJ trial — or in the wake of tragedy, as we did in the aftermath of Katrina — or as fodder for the nightly news.
— Senator Barack Obama, 3/18/08

It was a year later that his attorney general (Eric Holder) looked down his nose and called America a “nation of cowards”. It’s quite ironic that in the following months (when issues of race would come up) the administration would pick and choose which to comment or take action on, at times prematurely, most definitely intentionally.

Seconds after admitting he knew few details of the case, President Obama sided with belligerent Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and accused the Cambridge, Massachusetts police who detained him as “acting stupidly”. It culminated in the taxpayers flying the professor and arresting officer over 400 miles down to the White House to have a couple of beers.

Obviously the election of Barack Obama didn’t result in the perceived eradication of race in America, and if black America expected “Obama money”, race allegations are best the distraction from an empty wallet (that will ultimately be blamed on whites).

The Tea Party has been called racist because of their opposition to ObamaCare, as well as the Democrats’ other big government, budget-busting policies. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are unreliable loose cannons, and the NAACP has been proven a repeatedly incompetent ally in a verbal race war.

Calling millions of Americans racist couldn’t stick by itself. Obama and the Democrats needed help….

Nation Of Cowards: Liberal Media Suckers

We now know, from their own words, that liberal media types have been working in concert to publicly label opposition to Obama as race-driven.

According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.

In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright size-medium wp-image-41394" title="Sarah Silverman Says That Fox News Is A 24 Hour A Day Racism Engine and Their Accusations On Obama! No one knows when they’ll be called a racist, hater, Uncle Tom, or sellout. Now, it seems, we’ll never know why one person can lose a job over the use of a racial slur while others can use them often under the guise of it being a ‘joke’.

Americans are quite capable of living in a general harmony. Two strangers of different races can sit side-by-side at a ballgame and when a run or touchdown is scored, these two people (rooting for the same team) can give each other high fives and race never entered the mix. But between an administration that picks and chooses who to racially vilify or defend, a Just Us Department that picks and chooses who to racially vilify or defend, liberal activists who pick and choose who to racially vilify or defend, and a media that picks and chooses who to racially vilify or defend, it’s as plain as day why America is knee deep in a race quagmire.

The cowards are the very elites who pit one group against the other before retreating to their gated communities. It’s the rest of us that have to live with the hell those elites raised. ‘Any means necessary’ also involves collateral damage and as much as liberals point the finger elsewhere, should it all go down, cowards are always the first to be found.

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick said Wednesday he would support changing state law to allow him to appoint an interim successor to Sen. Edward Kennedy’s seat while a special election is held.

The succession law was changed in 2004, when Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., became his party’s presidential nominee and Republican Mitt Romney was the state’s governor. Before the change, the governor would have appointed a replacement to serve until the next general election.

Guess who was behind that…?

John Kerry, the other Senator from the state, was running for President in 2004, and Mr. Kennedy wanted the law changed so the Republican Governor at the time, Mitt Romney, could not name Mr. Kerry’s replacement.

“Prodded by a personal appeal from Senator Edward M. Kennedy,” reported the Boston Globe in 2004, “Democratic legislative leaders have agreed to take up a stalled bill creating a special election process to replace U.S. Senator John F. Kerry if he wins the presidency.”

Now that the state has a Democratic Governor, Mr. Kennedy wants to revert to gubernatorial appointments.

Here’s the “personal appeal from Senator Edward M. Kennedy” for your inspection.

If Senator Byrd can rename the health care bill after Senator Kennedy, then we can call this partisan flip what it is: the Kennedy Hypocrisy Act.

As a resident of Massachusetts, I see real parallels between the rise and fall of our first black governor Deval Patrick, and the rise and coming fall of the first black president, Barack Obama. Let’s get to some politically incorrect, uncomfortable-to-say for some, specifics.

The Ballot Becomes The Race Card

Both Deval Patrick and Barack Obama had the same campaign guru: David Axelrod.

Using white liberal guilt to his political advantage, Axelrod created candidates that were immune from the normal political vetting process, as any attempt to do such would be called veiled racism.

With that, they ran with vague slogans that touched at progressive heartstrings, and they did. Patrick’s “Together We Can” worked so Obama’s “Yes We Can” slogan again offered what the beholder thought he or she wanted, without the nasty details.

Again hiding behind the race smear, virtually no one pestered the candidates for details of what they planned on doing once in office. Patrick and Obama were allowed to say whatever they wanted to make the voters feel better about making history. The beauty of this strategy was that any opposition to these candidates had the typical racially correct response in the waiting.

With Patrick’s victory, Axelrod found his template and with Barack Obama, took it national.

The Non-Threatening Black

Granted, it’s neither of their fault, but liberals really prefer halfrican Americans. If you think that’s an over-the-top assertion, take a look at all of the so-called pretty people Hollywood celebrates. A vast majority of the “black” female singers and actresses are light-skinned. With the exception of gangsta’ rappers and hip-hop thugs, a good number of black males in entertainment aren’t dark.

This is not a true reflection of the preferences of the American people, but of the liberal racists who “discover” the new talent. Take a look at President Obama’s inner circle and with some exceptions, almost all are light-skinned black people; a trait someone must consider more visually acceptable to the American people.

Both Deval Patrick and Barack Obama are light-skinned. When choosing clients, that had to have weighed in on Axelrod’s decision: how to use race politics that will be the least offensive. Despite all the civil rights gains over the decades, there are still people who’d never vote for a black man, but if he weren’t so black…?

So by finding black candidates that spoke proper English and weren’t “threatening”, we had two candidates for high office that could be embraced by the mainstream while still maintaining the fear of a race label on those who would oppose.

History In The Making

Both Obama and Patrick had something going for them that few enjoy in their whole political career: historic firsts.

As potential historical pics, this would also be used to their advantage. Think about it: voting against Barack Obama and Deval Patrick could be seen as voting against progress and sticking with the horrors of America’s past. Voting against Barack Obama and Deval Patrick would be seen as backward thinking and worse, you’re a racist.

Media criticism during their campaigns was like watching someone walking over glowing coals. Each step was painful, but the anticipation of the next step was worse.

Deval Patrick was dogged by an issue during the campaign about his unapologetic advocacy of a convicted black rapist. The perp was black, the victim was white. Now if all the parties were white and the candidate were a Republican or Democrat, we all know how this would’ve ended up. But because two of the three involved were black, the media simply reported the issue, made no assertions, few follow-ups, and it went away because to push it…? Well, you know what that would’ve been called.

Barack Obama had his share of controversies, the thickest of which was that surrounding the Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s rather racist statements from the pulpit.

Because of the instinctive racial recoil, we were actually told to believe that Obama went to Wright’s church for twenty years and just happened to take selective Sundays off when Jeremiah went off. And leave-it-be the media basically did. Now, if John McCain or Sarah Palin’s pastor said “goddamn America”, that could have been a disqualifier, but as we were talking about a candidate that had to be treated with sensitivity, “goddamn America” was intellectually justified by the left and their media.

Inexperience Excused

The normal criteria for being a chief executive and/or Commander in Chief, is someone who had to have the prerequisite experience. Normally governors are people who’ve held statewide office and whose track record was an open book. Normally presidents are people who’ve held executive private or public sector positions, had managed over legislative battles, and had the scars to prove it.

Neither Barack Obama or Deval Patrick had such experience, which is why I’ve called them both affirmative action hires and will continue to do so, as they both fit that make-up-for-history criteria.

Prior to becoming the governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick had NO elective office experience. Besides previously being an attorney and businessman, Patrick was a United States Assistant Attorney General under President Bill Clinton. Not to outright demean the value of such experience, but most gubernatorial candidates at least have had some election victories in the state they wish to lead. But where Affirmative Action applies, direct experience doesn’t matter. An opportunity for racial justice does.

We’ve all seen and heard about John McCain for decades. Who even knew Barack Obama existed two years ago, and who would’ve ever thought an unknown community organizer from Chicago would ever be president? If someone in Vegas can look into what the odds were when Obama first announced, I’d love to know. Can you imagine what a $50 bet on those odds would have paid off on November 4, 2008?

From what we know, Barack Obama was not the talented, skilled candidate we’ve all be told he is. Apparently, he used technicalities to have seasoned opponents removed from the ballot, whupped a principles-challenged, carpetbagging Republican Alan Keyes for the US Senate race, and after not even showing a molecule of humility in gaining some relevant Capitol Hill experience (basically a short-term party yes man), Barack Obama decided it was HIS time and made his move on the presidency.

Again, having white liberal guilt as his trump card, the only experience either of these candidates needed was that of oppressed minorities that lived in a world few in the mainstream could ever understand, or dare question.

That’s all they needed.

Both Deval Patrick and Barack Obama came into their respective offices with trumped up “mandates”. It was a glorious time of change and hope and together we can, and that’s all that mattered. We were all told to sit down, shut up, and give these men a chance to make things right.

Deval Patrick’s newfound power almost immediately went to his head.

His initial state budget-busting with a Democrat legislative supermajority wasn’t helped with his overspending on his office makeover. I mean, c’mon. What self-respecting black man spends $12,000 on drapes?

Deval Patrick did, as well as ditching the traditional Crown Victoria ride for the stereotypical, way more expensive Cadillac. Obviously as the first black governor, “Coupe Deval” believed he was entitled to these (and many other) perks of power, while lacking the humility to see how others not as fortunate viewed his excesses.

Barack Obama didn’t even wait for his election to declare “this is the moment, as Nancy (Pelosi) noted, that the world is waiting for.” While his personal gains weren’t as pronounced, his hubris has been duly noted.

His numerous Executive Order overturns of Bush Administration policy was a clear illustration of his disdain for what many of us consider respect of the previous occupants. But as his short term continued, he found himself continuing those liberally-hated policies because there was wisdom Candidate Obama wasn’t privy to during the campaign. Obama’s youthful arrogance continues to play out on a daily basis as he takes every opportunity to blame the former administration for the tough decisions he has to make, his penchant for talking down to the American children he leads, while taking credit for having the smarts to stay the course, even though by doing so he’s continuing where Bush left off.

Deval Patrick was essentially reigned in by the embedded Massachusetts Democrat machine. Barack Obama has been a bull-in-the-china-shop when it comes to his “transforming America” promise. The long term problem for Obama is that the people aren’t digging what he’s turning America into.

Despite the use of the race card to get him elected, would anyone of us believe that in less than four months the Obama Administration would be taking over banks, dictating how automakers would make product, changing Cuba policy, and getting away with foreign etiquette gaffes expected of George W. Bush?

Of course not, and if Barack Obama ran on that, even with RINO McCain as his weak opposition, he’d never have gotten elected.

A recent Rasmussen Poll shows that there is a very strong possibility that Deval Patrick will be a one-term governor. Note his using any and every opportunity to be seen with fellow Chicago homie Barack Obama in D.C.

Patrick repeatedly says he’s not interested in accepting a cabinet position in the Obama Administration, but as of November 2010, he may find himself out of work like the rest of us.

President Obama could face a similar fate in 2012.

In four months, Barack Obama has done more damage to the nation we once called The United States of America than any president we’ve been alive to witness. Imagine how bad things may get next month, let alone next year, and the American people will soon tire of his “I inherited this” excuse.

And despite all the hype, I don’t believe Barack Obama is this outstanding orator and politician.

Barack Obama is a good reader but as evidenced by his tendency to um and ahh when off prompter, we can be justified in questioning his intelligence as we really don’t know who’s writing the glowing passages he reads. Just what would the media and the left be saying about George W. Bush if he had to read answers in a press conference off a teleprompter, and everyone would be speculating who was scripting him.

Deval Patrick may be the first and last black governor Massachusetts sees for a long time. Barack Obama may also be the first and last black president as well.

Let me take that back.

The next black person who runs for those seats, if they have any hope of winning, will be Republicans, because memories of those who broke ground before them will be an open wound. Barack Obama and Deval Patrick will quickly become stereotyped adjectives, and we all know most stereotypes have a basis in truth.
