<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #808080;">“<strong>I told him, ‘Mr. President this is about saving lives. It’s not about politics</strong>,&#8217;” Yulín Cruz said. “<strong>That’s all the interaction that mayors had with him.</strong>“</span><br />

<p>Of course, there are always two sides to every story.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><a class="cb-lightbox fs-lightbox-element" title="President Trump and Mayor Perez" href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Trump-and-Perez.jpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><img decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-128869 size-medium" title="President Trump and Mayor Perez" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Trump-and-Perez-150x103.jpg" sizes="(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Trump-and-Perez-150x103.jpg 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Trump-and-Perez-768x526.jpg 768w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Trump-and-Perez-500x343.jpg 500w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Trump-and-Perez.jpg 800w" alt="" width="150" height="103" /></a><span style="color: #808080;">I don’t know why she is saying that. What I can tell you is my experience.</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #808080;"><strong>She </strong>[Mayor Cruz]<strong> is not participating in any meetings and we had a couple already with the governors and with representation of FEMA and of HUD, of these whole federal agencies that have given us help and she’s not participating in those meetings and some mayors from her political party have been participating, so I don’t know why she is saying that.</strong> My experience is very different.</span><br />
<span style="color: #808080;">—</span> <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2017/09/30/exclusive-fellow-puerto-rico-mayor-rips-san-juan-mayor-shes-not-participating-in-any-meetings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Angel Perez, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico mayor</a></p>
<p>As we’ve shared earlier, some politicians have used the hurricane aftermath in Puerto Rico for blatant self-promotion and it now appears there are actually government elected and employees who may be hoarding the life-saving supplies sent from the U.S. mainland.</p>
<blockquote><p><iframe loading="lazy" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XwbF8JWL4Q0" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"><span data-mce-type="bookmark" style="display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;" class="mce_SELRES_start"></span></iframe></p></blockquote>
<p>It would be politically incorrect and probably racist to conclude systemic corruption is the island’s culture, but it clearly is.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><a class="cb-lightbox fs-lightbox-element" title="Federal prosecutor Rosa Emilia Rodriguez" href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Rosa-Emilia-Rodriguez.jpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-120405 size-medium" title="Federal prosecutor Rosa Emilia Rodriguez" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Rosa-Emilia-Rodriguez-150x90.jpg" sizes="auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Rosa-Emilia-Rodriguez-150x90.jpg 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Rosa-Emilia-Rodriguez-500x300.jpg 500w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Rosa-Emilia-Rodriguez.jpg 700w" alt="" width="150" height="90" /></a><span style="color: #808080;">“<strong>This morning we received information from a town on the Island where a person close to the municipal administration was asking one of our federal agents that the supplies that were there could not be touched because they were for his mayor</strong>,” said federal prosecutor Rosa Emilia Rodriguez, who then indicated that the case is already being investigated.</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #808080;">She added that he also received confidences from another islander whose official was also keeping supplies for “<strong>constituents who had voted for that person.</strong> <strong>This is not the time to do politics … this is the time to help and to be kind to others. This is a tragedy and nobody should take advantage of the aid</strong>, “said Rodriguez, adding that if they manage to prove the indications, the accusations will arrive “<strong>no matter which party, or whoever.</strong> “</span><br />

<p>Be very skeptical of the screeching media, demanding to know why aspects of FEMA recovery efforts aren’t happening as fast as they determine it should be. The answer is one they can’t allow the American taxpayer to hear and Democrat Party to answer for.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><strong><a class="cb-lightbox fs-lightbox-element" title="Jorge L. Even before the hurricane hit, water and power systems were already broken. And our $118 billion debt crisis is a result of government corruption and mismanagement.</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #808080;"><strong>Watch out what relief funds you approve and let our local government handle. Don’t let the Puerto Rican government play the victim and fool you. They have no clue what they are doing, and I worry that they will mishandle anything that comes their way.</strong></span></p>
<p>It looks like Mr. Rodriguez was spot on and the misleading media isn’t helping either.</p>

The first responders and FEMA have all been outstanding in this crisis, and should be supported.</strong></span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #808080;">I have 50 engineers that I have sent out pro bono to help local companies get back on their feet. This includes getting people gasoline and cash, and helping them connect to others that can assist with repairs without delays.</span></p>

<h2><span style="color: #ff9900;">UPDATE</span></h2>
<p>While some are trying to make the case that Puerto Rico deserves statehood status, some of the long, underreported fraudulent behavior of local officials keeps rearing its ugly head.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #808080;"><a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Ángel-Figueroa-Cruz.jpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-4404 size-medium" title="Ángel Figueroa Cruz, director of the Senate Office of Government Affair" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Ángel-Figueroa-Cruz-150x103.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="103" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Ángel-Figueroa-Cruz-150x103.jpg 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Ángel-Figueroa-Cruz-500x344.jpg 500w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Ángel-Figueroa-Cruz.jpg 700w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" /></a>Three officials with Puerto Rico’s Senate were arrested by FBI agents Thursday and later charged by the U.S. territory’s federal prosecutor with alleged corruption for a case involving <strong>a scheme to defraud the legislature using “ghost employees.” Federal prosecutor Rosa Emilia Rodríguez said 18 charges were brought against Ángel Figueroa Cruz, director of the Senate Office of Government Affair; Isoel Sánchez Santiago, an assistant to the Senate president; and Chrystal Robles Báez, a contractor to the body.</strong></span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #808080;">The purported scheme involved the accused billing the Senate for professional services that were never provided.</span><br />

<p>I&#8217;m sure you haven&#8217;t heard as much compared to the eager coverage Mayor Cruz enjoyed while attacking the president for not sending more money to the island. Here&#8217;s another reason why&#8230;.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><strong><span style="color: #808080;">A mayor and two former government officials in Puerto Rico face public corruption charges in separate cases that involve a total of $8 million in federal and local funds, authorities said Thursday.</span></strong></p>
<p>Note: whenever you hear &#8220;federal and local funds&#8221;, replace those words with &#8220;taxpayer dollars&#8221;.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #808080;">Officials said <strong>former finance director Victor Cruz Quintero deposited some $2.5 million worth of funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development into the town&#8217;s general and payroll accounts in October 2014. <p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #808080;"><strong>The alleged fraud involves $15.5 million in federal funding between 2017 and 2019.</strong> Thirteen million was spent by the Department of Education during Keleher&#8217;s time as secretary, while $2.5 million was spent by the insurance administration when Ávila was the director.</span><br />

<p>Let&#8217;s face it: Puerto Rico is run like your stereotypical, graft and corruption-laden banana republic and until they&#8217;re forced to clean up their act, they don&#8217;t deserve statehood, let alone any more taxpayer money from Americans.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #ff9900;">UPDATE</span></h2>
<p>Corruption appears to be so bad in Puerto Rico that it continues when you&#8217;d think reasonable people would lay low&#8230;.</p>

<p>Speaking of political repetition, it’s sad I’m still having to explain <a href="https://youtu.be/yDCUnAS2q-c?t=1h54m43s" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">what I said</a> over 12 years ago. So seeing how the left and their media still assume the American people are a bunch of stoopids who’ll buy their bullshit, as a public service, we proudly present…</p>

</a></p>
<p>As you consume the Democrat messaging <em>(echoed by the media)</em> on how devastating President Trump’s budget “cuts” will be, especially to the poor, women, minorities, the elderly, let’s remind you what a political budget “cut” normally is.</p>
<p><em><strong>Let’s say I told you I was going to give you $10.</strong></em></p>
<p><em><strong>After looking at my personal budget, I determined I couldn’t afford to give you $10 so instead I would give you $7.</strong></em></p>
<p><em>(Remember, I’m STILL GIVING YOU $7!)</em></p>
<p><em><strong>Democrats would say I was cutting what I was supposed to give you by 30%.</strong></em></p>
<p>Sorry, it’s that simple.</p>
<p>Donald Trump<strong>,</strong> as a former president of a billion dollar enterprise knows most successful businesses don’t keep departments that function poorly. Most successful businesses don’t keep departments that can’t account for money misused and/or missing from their budgets. Most successful businesses don’t keep people in their departments who routinely under-perform. Donald Trump would fire people whose departments performed poorly simply because that’s a tremendous waste of his money and if money was stolen, the cops would be called.</p>
<p>However President Donald Trump is no longer looking out for his money. He’s looking out for ours.</p>
<p>Many of the departments whose budgets are being cut <em>(if you’ll be intellectually honest)</em> haven’t been respectful stewards of the hard-earned taxpayer dollar. We’ve seen and heard of many instances of waste, if not outright theft, by government employees, callous damage caused by government agencies, and rarely are there any ramifications as there would be if we did the same thing at a private company.</p>
<p>Let’s look at some of these affected government agencies like one of those supposedly, altruistic nonprofits.</p>
<p>Many of them have intentionally vague missions. Some want to help veterans, feed children, help the poor, save the environment, fund the arts, clean the oceans, etc. Unfortunately, like nonprofits, if the mission were to ever be achieved, employees would be out of a job, thus the vague mission statements.</p>
<p><strong>School Lunch Program “cuts”</strong><br />
<a class="cb-lightbox fs-lightbox-element" title="School lunch in the trash" href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/School-lunch-trash-052.png" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-98757 size-medium" title="School lunch in the trash" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/School-lunch-trash-052-150x101.png" sizes="auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/School-lunch-trash-052-150x101.png 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/School-lunch-trash-052-500x335.png 500w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/School-lunch-trash-052-300x200.png 300w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/School-lunch-trash-052-360x240.png 360w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/School-lunch-trash-052.png 600w" alt="" width="150" height="101" /></a>As argued in <a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/2017/04/26/school-meals-cuts-sorry-can-breed-feed-damn-kids/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a previous post</a>, exactly why are taxpayers feeding school children three meals a day, and in some cases 260 weekdays a year? Where are the parents? Why did our parents deem it their responsibility to make sure we had a lunchbox complete with sandwich, chips, and a Thermos full of either soup or SpaghettiOs® with Meatballs while many parents today deem it our responsibility to feed their many children so more valuable resources go to their cellphone plans and whatever else considered more important?</p>
<p>We won’t even get into Michelle Obama’s school lunch reboot that resulted in a need to increase the trash budgets.</p>
<p>As witnessed by <a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/2017/05/08/beach-restored-without-climate-change-activist-nonprofit-assistance/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">the miraculous restoration of a beach</a> in one week’s time, the whole notion that the planet cannot “heal” itself without governmental environment agencies or nonprofit activists has been near rendered laughable.</p>
<p><strong>Environmental Agency “cuts”</strong><br />
<a class="cb-lightbox fs-lightbox-element" title="NASA - Northern Ice Cap of Mars" href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Northern-Ice-Cap-of-Mars.jpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-115462 size-medium" title="NASA - Northern Ice Cap of Mars" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Northern-Ice-Cap-of-Mars-150x120.jpg" sizes="auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Northern-Ice-Cap-of-Mars-150x120.jpg 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Northern-Ice-Cap-of-Mars-500x400.jpg 500w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Northern-Ice-Cap-of-Mars.jpg 700w" alt="" width="150" height="120" /></a>Back in 2007, I shared <a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/2007/03/04/global-warming-up-to-kids/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a piece from the National Geographic</a> that showed evidence that the polar ice caps on Mars were melting. Seeing how Mars is further away from the Sun than the planet Earth and there are no SUV’s or factories there, only the warming of the Sun could explain warming that occurs because of our proximity to that bright, gaseous ball. The sheer fact NOT ONE environmental group EVER attributed global warming and cooling fluctuation to the variation in Sun activity but knee-jerk blamed human activity as the primary source should give pause for a red scam flag.</p>
<p><a class="cb-lightbox fs-lightbox-element" title="Gold King Mine spill" href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Gold-King-Mine-spill.jpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-114596 size-medium" title="Gold King Mine spill" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Gold-King-Mine-spill-150x81.jpg" sizes="auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Gold-King-Mine-spill-150x81.jpg 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Gold-King-Mine-spill-768x416.jpg 768w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Gold-King-Mine-spill-500x271.jpg 500w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Gold-King-Mine-spill-750x400.jpg 750w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Gold-King-Mine-spill.jpg 1024w" alt="" width="150" height="81" /></a>The Environmental Protection Agency has committed gross indifferent negligence and/or malfeasance over the years while there’s been very little benefit to be shown as a return on investment. The <a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/2015/08/12/the-epa-animas-river-spill-may-have-been-a-planned-event/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Gold King Mine spill</a>, committed by the reckless EPA polluted a river through four states and negatively affected the livelihood of millions of people, yet no one was really held accountable. Let’s not even talk about who was really negligent and thus ultimately responsible for the lead in the Flint, Michigan drinking water.</p>
<p>But government employees in some of these agencies had enough time to <a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/2017/04/30/climatemarch2017-useful-social-justice-idiots/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">organize a march of defiance</a>, much of it done on the taxpayer dime.</p>
<p>Veterans are still not receiving the benefits they rightfully deserve, the poor have not been given the guidance and tutelage necessary to rise out of poverty <em>(aside from how to apply for “benefits”)</em>, “art” has become a scam to subsidize no-talent rich kids with taxpayer dollars so their shit <em>(no one wants to buy)</em> can be intellectualized by humanities academics for validation.</p>
<p>The majority of government agencies being “cut” have shown no great ROI for the taxpayer who’s required to fund them at the threat of fine and/or imprisonment. While most government employees really want to serve the public, too many just look at it as a job; a job that’s very hard to be fired from and if they can keep that job for 20 years, the taxpayer can support them for the rest of their lives.</p>
<p><strong>Education “cuts”</strong><br />
Instead of improving our <a href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/2016/11/19/us-ranks-14th-education-lets-teach-social-justice/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">abysmal ranking in the world</a>, our public schools seem more able to efficiently turn our “young skulls full of mush” into social justice warrior Democrats than to be fully functioning members of society, and the schools start early.</p>
<blockquote><p><iframe loading="lazy" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qQnARN6Veos" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"><span data-mce-type="bookmark" style="display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;" class="mce_SELRES_start"></span></iframe></p></blockquote>
<p><strong>Infrastructure “cuts”</strong><br />
Show me a government road or building construction project that was ever completed on time and under budget?</p>
<p>Nuf’ said.</p>
<p>Predictably, all we hear is that the “cuts” ultimately hurt the poor and benefit the “rich”.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><a class="cb-lightbox fs-lightbox-element" title="Schumer on Trump budget" href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Schumer-on-Trump-budget.png" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-115468 size-medium" title="Schumer on Trump budget" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Schumer-on-Trump-budget-150x84.png" sizes="auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Schumer-on-Trump-budget-150x84.png 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Schumer-on-Trump-budget.png 320w" alt="" width="150" height="84" /></a><span style="color: #808080;">Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Tuesday spared almost no analogy in calling President Trump’s budget proposal <strong>“comic-book villain bad”</strong> that <strong>“relies on fantasy to make the numbers work.”</strong></span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #808080;"><strong>“The Trump budget takes a sledgehammer to the middle class and the working poor, lavishes tax breaks on the wealthy and imagines all of the deficit problems away with fantasy math,”</strong> Schumer said, speaking on the Senate floor. <strong>“The Trump budget exists somewhere over the rainbow where the dreams of Mick Mulvaney, Paul Ryan and the Koch brothers really do come true. Of course, these dreams are a nightmare for the average working American.”</strong></span><br />
<span style="color: #808080;">—</span> <a href="http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/schumer-compares-trump-budget-to-comic-book-villain/article/2623929" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Washington Examiner, 5/23/17</a></p>
<p>Forgot all about the Koch Brothers….</p>
<p>Disregard how Schumer had no numbers of his own to offer, but not to be outdone for relevance…</p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><a class="cb-lightbox fs-lightbox-element" title="Clinton Calls Trump Budget an 'Unimaginable Level of Cruelty'" href="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Hillary-052417.jpg" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignright wp-image-115461 size-medium" title="Clinton Calls Trump Budget an 'Unimaginable Level of Cruelty'" src="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Hillary-052417-150x84.jpg" sizes="auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px" srcset="https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Hillary-052417-150x84.jpg 150w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Hillary-052417-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Hillary-052417-500x281.jpg 500w, https://www.blackandblondemedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Hillary-052417.jpg 800w" alt="" width="150" height="84" /></a><span style="color: #808080;">Hillary Clinton proclaimed Tuesday that President Donald Trump’s budget shows an <strong>“unimaginable level of cruelty”</strong> for millions of Americans and children.</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 40px;"><span style="color: #808080;">The former Democratic presidential nominee, who recently declared herself part of the Trump resistance, lashed out at the Republican president’s spending plan in aggressive terms after being honored in New York City by the Children’s Health Fund, a nonprofit organization that helps provide health care to poor and homeless children.</span><br />
<span style="color: #808080;">—</span> <a href="http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/hillary-clinton/clinton-trump-budget-shows-unimaginable-cruelty-n763891" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">NBC News, 5/24/17</a></p>
<p>If there’s any cruelty it’s the sheer disrespect the entitled and/or elected have for the hard-earned taxpayer dollar they spend like trust fund babies with Daddy’s credit card.</p>
<p>The poor are still poor because the government entrenched want them to stay poor. If they poor ever were allowed to gain back control of their lives, not only would agency employees be at risk of job loss, but many of those now earning meaningful paychecks would see how much was taken out in taxes and who would that eventually make them want to vote for?</p>
<p>So, when you absorb the Democrat and media “cuts” whine, remember this is not about who they say will be hurt.</p>
<p>This is about President Trump showing respect for our tax dollars; something those in government haven’t done in decades.</p>
