The “Summer of 2020” would have been a mild pretext to the death and destruction that would have ensued.

Democrats have a lot to lose in 2024, power being the top of the list but not most important to the apparatus.

Thousands of federal employees could lose their cush taxpayer-funded gigs within months of a Trump inauguration. Like it or not, they are employed to serve at the pleasure of the elected President of the United States. During the four-plus years of the Trump Administration, there were many public displays of insubordination and those efforts were cheered on by the media. President Trump signed a Schedule F executive order near the end of his first term, and that EO was quietly rescinded by Joe Biden almost immediately after he was sworn in.

While the left and their media enjoyed the persecution and imprisoning of Joe Biden’s political opponents, they will be the first to remind an incoming President Trump not to engage in petty, vindictive acts of revenge. But there will be lots to investigate. Many people who tried to disrupt the 2016 Trump Transition Team and his presidency with false claims from dirty tricks have yet to lawyer-up and face the music for the drama (including undeserved impeachments) they created and the “baggage” Trump is said to have because of those dirty trick slanders.

The media will again go into 24-7 anti-Trump mode despite the fact most repeated lies for years and have yet to admit and apologize for their misinformation. They will double down and further prove they don’t deserve the First Amendment protections afforded a free and fair watchdog media. The Founding Fathers gave the media protection in the First Amendment of the Constitution with the caveat that they keep the public informed. It didn’t have to be said that the information presented be accurate. Maybe it should’ve been. Especially over the last decade, the media has made numerous declarations and a good portion of the populace believed them. As usual, when those declarations turned out to be untrue, corrections are buried if issued at all. Apologies? Zip, zero, nada.

The lack of contrition is expected because some of the overpaid in the media risk loss of their income should the public not trust them. Brian Williams seems to be one of the exceptions of a busted liar who continues to get high paying gigs while a laughing stock. But the media gets it wrong so often, it takes a certain amount of chutzpah to insist the public accept them at their word, for example, when it comes to the 2020 election as the “most secure in history“.

In fact, the media is wrong so often, there are posts dedicated to not letting the arrogant off the hook so easily.

A Columbia University’s Tow Center for Digital Journalism study found that “news organizations play a major role in propagating hoaxes, false claims, questionable rumors, and dubious viral content.”  In another study, Harvard’s Yochai Benkler, Robert Faris, and Hal Roberts examined four million online messages transmitted or shared during the 2016 election campaign, including those from the websites of traditional news outlets like the New York Times and fake news sites like those of Russian operatives. The research team expected the Russian effort to be a major source of disinformation, and it was. But they discovered that traditional media were a larger contributor.

USA Today said it has deleted 23 articles from its website after an investigation found that the reporter who wrote them used fabricated sources. The journalist who is said to have used the fabricated sources was identified as Gabriela Miranda, a breaking news reporter who resigned from the Virginia-based newspaper weeks ago, the paper confirmed Thursday.

New Republic reporter Stephen Glass was caught lying for three solid years, writing articles about events and human beings that never existed. Glass, the associate editor at the time, was fired by in the summer of 1998 and became the subject of the Hayden Christensen movie “Shattered Glass”.

Again, these are only the instances of journalistic dishonesty we know of and that’s been reported: take their word for it.

These are the same people who believe it’s their job to tear down those who violate societal and/or political norms but when they intentionally mislead, their publications either issue muted corrections or delete pieces altogether to cover inconvenient tracks.

Being a journalist is an immense responsibility best left to those who observe classic professional ethics and proven integrity. Two qualifications that is clearly lacking today and there doesn’t appear to be much that can assure the public that the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth is something guaranteed to come from the media.

How’s that working for ya?

It’s almost at the point when the media demands we must accept what they tell us as truth, the polar opposite should rightfully be prioritized. Not just because those proclamations erroneously influenced popular opinion (including federal elections), but because those who are overpaid to distribute “news” can’t justify their pay if they have to admit to their employers and millions of people they were very wrong.

So they won’t.

The media’s declarations have been so blatant that they’ve begun to, literally, pay the price for the harm caused.

There are numerous stories that the media insisted we blow off as “conspiracy theories” that have turned out to be true, and controversies arise that make no sense until common sense is deployed.

Add it all up and you’ll understand why CNN+ crashed and burned so quickly. Fewer accept what the media tells us as worthy of their time, let alone having their intelligence constantly insulted.

Cision’s annual State of the Media report, which looks at the key challenges journalists face today, is drawn from responses from over 3,800 journalists across 17 global markets. The number one challenge journalists cited? Maintaining credibility.

According to the report, 32% of those surveyed said that they struggle to combat accusations of fake news and remain a trusted news source; and 57% feel that the public has lost trust in the media over the past year.

Nina Jankowicz is a classic test case for the liberal affliction known as psychotic “projection”.

So, who exactly is Nina Jankowicz? Certainly, not a person with any concerns about preserving freedom of speech or expression. A quick look at her Twitter history is enough to dispel that. When Facebook permanently banned Donald Trump from its service, Nina was in the wings complaining that this punishment was not harsh enough. Through a metaphor, Nina explained that only mass bans on hundreds or thousands of accounts would be enough to “fix” the disinformation “problem.”

Could it be between now and the midterm election, a couple of major players in the Democrat Party could be at the center of uncomfortable attention; a couple of Democrats who MUST be protected at all costs?

Interesting how this “disinformation” topic came out of nowhere and considering how many media outlets still have egg crusts on their faces for distributing Hillary’s Trump-Russia-collusion bullshit for four-plus years that distracted a presidential campaign, hampered a transition team, and kneecapped a presidency. It had to have been green-lighted by Hillary and Obama had to have known.

John Durham knows. He just has to have every i dotted and t crossed before he certifies proof of the greatest political scandal in American history. And when that happens, all involved in the conspiracy can’t depend on the legacy media to do all the heavy lifting. They’ll need something more and this is where Nina Jankowicz comes in.

Of all the old-and-reliable useful idiots Biden (or whomever) could have appointed for this DHS gig, he chose an expendable nutcase who’ll fit nicely under the bus when she goes after anyone and everyone who reports what may be coming from the special counsel. Step on all my enemies and never do a thing,” Jankowicz sang in the clip from 2015.

Instead of being banned from a social media cite, Jankowicz could conceivably send goons with sub-machine guns kicking in the doors of Americans who shared a post embarrassing to Joe, Barack, Hillary, and Democrats as a whole.

After all, some things take relatively small amounts of intelligence to pull off.

So while it will be formerly known as the Disinformation Governance Board, it’s really going to be Disinformation Projection Board because like most of the so-called scandals specifically blamed on President Donald Trump, it turns out the Democrat left actually did the things the accused others of doing with no accountability.

It would appear the bully got too much a taste of her own medicine, and like most bullies, she ran away.

The Biden administration has “paused” its controversial plans to create a Disinformation Board, causing its would-be leader to resign.

In a statement Wednesday, Nina Jankowicz, the “disinformation expert” tapped to head the panel, said that “[w]ith the Board’s work paused and its future uncertain, and [sic] I have decided to leave DHS [the Department of Homeland Security] to return to my work in the public sphere.” Jankowicz’s departure and the decision to scrap the board was first reported by the Washington Post.

Whenever a liberal claims to be “mischaracterized”, it means uncomfortable truth was made public.

Jankowicz’s idea of standing up for the First Amendment included letting “verified” Twitter users “edit” other users’ tweets if the blue-checked chosen think they’re misleading. Jankowicz also repeatedly tried to spread doubt about The Post’s own reporting about Hunter Biden’s notorious laptop, telling the Associated Press in October 2020 that it should be viewed as “a Trump campaign product.” In addition, Jankowicz pushed the since-debunked claim in 2016 that then-presidential candidate Donald Trump had a tie to Kremlin-linked Alfa-Bank, an allegation at the center of an ongoing trial of a Clinton campaign lawyer accused by special counsel John Durham of lying to the FBI.

The misinformation maven was also ripped for a bizarre TikTok performance from February 2021 in which she altered the lyrics to the “Mary Poppins” song “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” to be about fake news.

Libs of TikTok is a favorite among terminally online conservatives, who believe the account’s cherry-picked curation of primarily LGBT-oriented content lends credence to right-wing conspiracy theories claiming America’s youth are being coerced and “groomed” into homosexuality and transgenderism.

Libs of TikTok is basically a Twitter account where the creator uploads TikTok videos, voluntarily posted by liberals, where they are who they are. Many just look and sound weird, and most illuminating of late are videos of those in the teaching profession who brag about how they’re indoctrinating children to be gay, transgender, etc. giddily behind the backs of parents. The timing of these video creation is inconvenient given the recent issues involving Walt Disney and Florida’s “Parental Rights in Education” bill.

Imagine being so insecure (and busted) you have to tell people how they should read what you write even though the punishment inflicted isn’t enough….

While an argument could weakly be made that the creator of Libs of TikTok is a public person because of “anonymous” appearances on other media platforms, we all know Lorenz would be quickly called into a corner office if she doxxed Tom Cruise or Beyoncé because those public people have really good lawyers who can write “cease and desist” in fonts big enough to get the attention of outraged shareholders and nervous insurance companies.

Immature or vindictive types in the media believe any opposing private citizen is fair game. They also assume, because they hide behind the title of “journalist”, they should personally remain unscathed. Not sure when Lorenz last read the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, but the media guaranteed the right to publish whatever they wish. There’s nothing in that Amendment to shields them or their employees from criticism and/or ridicule.

Not surprising, Taylor Lorenz isn’t even a good “journalist”.

The profound pathologies driving all of this were on full display on Saturday night as the result of a reckless and self-humiliating smear campaign by one of The New York Times’ star tech reporters, Taylor Lorenz. She falsely and very publicly accused Silicon Valley entrepreneur and investor Marc Andreessen of having used the “slur” word “retarded” during a discussion about the Reddit/GameStop uprising.

Lorenz lied. Andreessen never used that word. And rather than apologize and retract it, she justified her mistake by claiming it was a “male voice” that sounded like his, then locked her Twitter account as though she — rather than the person she falsely maligned — was the victim.

Looks like we have a pattern.

And sorry, supposed professional journalists don’t cry because readers (as mean as they can be) don’t like them or their work just before they decide to publicly bully and harass others. I’m not sure very much, if any, footage exists of female journalism pioneers crying because of an adverse audience reaction.

So yet again we have another teachable moment.

The problem is liberals seldom learn from them, especially media millennials. They take no responsibility for their misdeeds and consistently make things worse for all involved.

The second day of former president Donald Trump’s impeachment trial closed with a momentary controversy. Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) objected to how a Democratic impeachment manager sourced information to him personally and asked that it be stricken from the record.

Rep. David N. Cicilline (D-R.I.) had cited Lee while describing a phone call early in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot between then-President Donald Trump and Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) about overturning the election. Lee had confirmed that Trump called him accidentally while seeking to talk to Tuberville, but the details of the ensuing conversation were not sourced to Lee in news reports. Cicilline had cited Lee’s confirmation of the call and added in the next sentence: “And on that call, Donald Trump reportedly asks Senator Tuberville to make additional objections to the certification process.”

Cicilline’s comments could be read to suggest the “reportedly” was based on Lee’s confirmation, though that generally refers to news reports. Regardless, lead House impeachment manager Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) opted to withdraw Cicilline’s assertion, maintaining that the sourcing was “not critical in any way to our case.”

In fact, the “source” Cicilline cited made no mention of Senator Lee and indicated that President Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani made the phone call to Tuberville, NOT President Trump himself. Aside from blatantly lying and assuming he wouldn’t be called out, it’s not clear why Cicilline tied Lee to the Giuliani-Tuberville phone call.

At approximately 7 p.m., Giuliani called newly sworn-in Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville, a staunch Trump ally, imploring him to stall the process. “I want to discuss with you how they’re trying to rush this hearing and how we need you, our Republican friends, to try to just slow it down so we can get these legislatures to get more information to you,” Giuliani said in a voicemail.

The problem for Giuliani? He left his message on the voicemail of another senator, who shared it with The Dispatch.

The Dispatch did not reveal which senator actually got the call, neither did the Washington Post or Congressman Cicilline.

But what was also on sad was soon-to-be 81-year-old Sen. Patrick Leahy, president pro tempore of the Senate, presiding over the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, whose senility, cognitive decline, and incompetence was on full display to the world.

Aides having to tell the president pro tempore of the Senate what to do and say during an impeachment trial regarding blatant mischaracterizations by a House manager… seriously?

Clearly, it’s not really about the stock market after all — because other flesh-and-blood humans are invested in the stock market, and who gives a f*#k about them, right? No, it’s all about Trump’s reelection prospects. And he has two choices: 1) Do the right thing, save potentially millions of lives, and ride off into the sunset knowing you did your level best for your fellow humans or 2) be Donald Trump.

The media clearly regards the Coronavirus and his reelection as equally important topics, especially when it comes to how Americans are perceiving the president’s response to the Chinese Wuhan virus.

Despite the ongoing tumult as a result of all things COVID-19, others are also taking notice of the politics (which we all know would be a timely and pertinent topic if their favorite former president were in the same position).

Sadly, the actual number was 80, but this is also an illustration of why the media has a public disapproval number much greater than President Trump and you know it really pisses them off.

And why shouldn’t the president be concerned about his reelection seeing how the Democrat plan from Day One was to do anything and everything to have him removed from office (if not in handcuffs) during his first term? His even being able to talk 2020 reelection is a political miracle in itself.

While circumnavigating the uncharted waters of the Wuhan virus has been traumatizing for the nation, President Trump’s response has been calm, cool and collected despite the ever-evolving information he’s been receiving on a daily basis. His keeping the people informed (Leadership 1.01) without having to rely on speechwriters and focus groups to hone a self-serving political message continues to help the nation get through these times of uncertainty, despite the best efforts of the left and their media.

Mix in the arrogance of the professional journalism class, a little simple mathematics and you get the comic relief issued on MSNBC’s The 11th Hour with Brian Williams.

“True” and “disturbing” is pretty close to the mark here.

Let’s try and keep this simple for the “journalists”. Three hundred twenty-seven million people given $1 each equals $327 million.

Had Williams and Gay gotten that through their numerically-challenged heads immediately after reading Rivas’ Tweet, the segment would not have gone so south, so quickly. Three hundred twenty-seven million people given $1 million each would require Mike Bloomberg to have at least $327 trillion in the bank.

We all know about the credibility challenges rightfully sticking to Brian Williams, so moving right along….

Mekita Rivas boasts of being a writer for Refinery29, Yahoo News UK, Yahoo Lifestyle, Teen Vogue, The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Sydney Morning Herald, Broadly, GARAGE Magazine, CNBC, Eventbrite Rally, The (Toronto) Star and other blogs. Williams’ on-air guest Mara Gay is a member of the New York Times editorial board and also wrote for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, New York Daily News, MarketWatch, New York Magazine, The Dallas Morning News, Fox Business, RealClearPolitics, Pulse Nigeria, Salt Lake Tribune. One would think these women would appreciate the gravity of what they put out on social media or say on national television, no matter how small the audience.

Rivas has since protected her Twitter account AND her website because she appears to be one of those arrogant, thin skinned bloggers who can dish it but retreats when self-inflicted public stupidity smacks her back in the face.

Of course, one of Rivas’ colleagues rushed to the defense of the narcissistic butthurt.

Humans aren’t necessarily bad at math, but we are indisputably bad at scale. As we evolved, we had no need to intuitively understand the concept of a million, much less a billion. We get the difference between $1 and $1,000, but the transition from “million” to “billion” feels more like the transition from 10 to 20 than going from a thousand thousands to a thousand thousand thousands. Combine that blind spot with a predisposition to see Bloomberg’s spending as wasteful and here we are.

Remember this when the media trashes President Trump, claims he lies and/or misrepresents facts. As a successful businessman, he’s obviously mastered rather simple math, unlike his college-educated critics.

When today’s journalists get it wrong, especially the younger ones, there are seldom apologies and/or sincere contrition. We’re supposed to understand what they meant, no matter how badly they mangle the obvious.
