MSNBC’s Mitchell, Vitali Make the Case for Journalism Age Limits

In one cable news segment, the nation watched someone say something clearly wrong and another nod in clueless affirmation.

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell incorrectly labeled Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes a “Republican”, which in this particular news story is a major screw up.

Gov. Rick Scott’s campaign has filed lawsuits against election officials in Broward and Palm Beach counties, accusing them of not being able to provide accurate totals of how many ballots remain left to be counted. In the lawsuits, Scott’s campaign names Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes and Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher in their respective county roles.

Snipes and Bucher are Democrats. Scott is a Republican.

Mitchell also referred to “the mess we all remember from 2000” that was the Bush-Gore Florida recount.

Ali Vitali nodded in agreement again. The problem is Vitali was 10 in 2000 and that whole hanging chad thing was probably low on her awareness, comprehension and importance list.

It could be argued Andrea Mitchell mislabeled Snipes’ party affiliation because Democrat internals show they consider their supporters “low information” so they could be easily duped.

It could be argued that Mitchell is stupid and Vitali is ignorant, thus another millennial “political reporter” too inexperienced to have gotten the job in the first place, considering how many experienced, award-winning reporters there are in the United States.

Or it could be that Andrea Mitchell is too old to be delivering anything on the professional news level and this was her latest senior moment.
