For those of you who’ve never been to any kind of state party nominating process, it usually only takes a premiere room (paid for a candidate’s campaign) full of really good food and booze to coerce those to support a candidate. As New York Governor Kathy Hochul said at the 2022 State Convention, “There’s a reason they call us the Democratic Party; we love to party, right?” and she probably made sure the old and fat were well taken care of as to secure her nomination for governor.
But things in the party, especially in the Democrat-mismanaged state of New York, aren’t as peachy as the media would have America believe. Hochul’s moment in the sun was hardly one of “unconditional love” but obscured by audible, very real internal storm clouds….
It took the discipline of a professional politician to maintain composure during an acceptance speech while there were clearly a vocal many who opposed her. These are the same people Hochul will need to defeat a Republican this fall, especially in a climate where millions of Democrats nationally are suffering because of the malevolent actions of the Democrat president Joe Biden and things are going to get a whole lot worse before the first votes are cast in November.
Good luck with that.
