Thanks to the government shutdown, we’re seeing story after #ShutdownStories about poor federal government employees who are going to have trouble paying their mortgages, put food on their tables, meet their car payments, etc. The sympathy has extended to businesses offering free goods and services to ease the pain these public servants are now enduring because President Trump wants a wall to protect Americans from illegal aliens and Democrats do not.
It’s become a sad reality in the United States. Race hustlers who thrive on any opportunity to push that wedge further into the racial divide as a means to increase their personal (and financial) relevance. The “healing” seldom happens.
What’s also sad is how quickly those, who were on the sidelines, use race as their kneejerk response to a tragedy regardless if race was an issue or not.
If anything, the present drama illustrates the glaring difference between two Americas: one where we all live by the rules of capitalism and the other where those rules don’t apply and those within it feel entitled to what most of us can’t even imagine.
And guess which America the media and punditry sympathizes with?
Why has the Democrat-media and their left been on the offensive#Resistance against Donald Trump ever since he won the Republican nomination, the presidency and ever since? Yes, it’s because they can’t accept the fact someone they didn’t authorize won the hearts and minds of Americans they failed to dissuade.
Every few days we see and hear another blazing headline of a lottery jackpot in the hundreds of millions and we’re also remind of how your bets are helping fund “education”.
You know, “for the children”… again.
In yet another classic case of “do as I say, not as I do”, the mayor of the District of Columbia and city council have mandated its residents to enroll in their healthcare exchanges while also giving the same general public the privilege of paying for those politicians’ health care expenses.
There are many previous examples of so-called journalists who’ve been caught, albeit long after the fact, lying to their editors and readers, plagiarizing the work of others, and all too many were rewarded with a loose standard of time out before being employed elsewhere.
Call it yet the latest example of the taxpayer-funded steamroller, called our Just Us Department: a steamroller that can ruin lives during investigations that increase federal prosecutor profiles on their way up the chain. We’re witnessing in real time an underbelly of our government that would’ve been sight unseen had Hillary Clinton won the presidency: the push to enforce the unregistered foreign agent law that many well-connected are even bothered with.
It’s rare that a major motion picture that’s only grossed over $78 thousand dollars since July at the box office receives any kind of attention, but Rob Reiner’s Shock and Awe is one of those exceptions. As a veteran, some of this movie’s message is downright insulting, especially coming from Reiner.
You can lay this right at the feet of the exploitive leftists in what was once called the “music industry”. It took talent and skill to compose and perform music. You actually had to be able to sing to be in what was called the music industry. You also had to know your potential audience and create music that would hopefully be universally appreciated.
Today, too many are looking for reasons to be offended about anything; almost to the point of the absurd.
